As a young boy growing up in Bordlesti, a village in Northwest Romania, Ion was influenced by the simplicity of rural life as well as the glassblowers in the local factories. The beautiful sunflowers and acacia trees of Transylvania were as much a part of his childhood as the mines and factories of pre-revolutionary Romania. |
